This page contains a description of all catamaran lines connecting Pula and Venice. Below the description of each excursion, there is a button "Availability check". By clicking on it, an online application is launched that shows the available dates and exact departure points of the boat or bus. By continuing the process, it is also possible to book an excursion.
A passport or ID card is required to participate in the trip. Please check all travel conditions.
The distance between the cities is 130 km and the ship ride takes three and a half hours. Here you can read more about how the group moves through Venice upon arrival. In July and August, the tours from the port of Pula, take place every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. Bus transportation from Pula, Fazana and Medulin is available but is sure just for the return trip.
In the low season, from April to June and from mid-September to the first half of October, ferries are going exclusively from Poreč or Rovinj and bus shuttle from Pula to the ship and back is organized for passengers of return trip.
There are no car-ferries between Pula and Italy, so passengers can use the described lines as one way transportation. For passengers, which go to Pula in one direction, the starting point in Venice is San Basilio terminal.
The following information is required for the booking of both trips: name and family name, date of birth, nationality, gender, the number of the travel document.
The price includes an expert guide in English and German. Food and drinks are not included. Travel tickets (vouchers) can be printed or in electronic form. All confirmed prices and schedules will be sent at your request.
For travelers coming alone, the departure point is the customs pier in Pula. The closest address you can currently recognize by GPS navigation is Riva 24, 52100 Pula. From recommended parking Karolina (Trg Nimfeja bb, 52100, Pula, next to the Roman amphitheater) to the custom pier the distance is just 150 m. This parking is very close, but not very cheap and the price is €4 per hour. Here you can find out more about parking in the port of Pula.
This catamaran (a high-speed passenger ferry) is 35 meters long and 10.5 meters wide. The maximum speed is 33 knots, it has a spacious, comfortable and air-conditioned salon, 4 toilets, a bar that offers hot and cold non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, and simple meals. It was manufactured in Norway in 2011 and equipped with modern navigation devices. The drive is classic, with 2 diesel engines of 1080 hp each that provide high speed and stability. The owner of the vessel and organizer of the trips is the company Kompas. Guided commentary is provided on board during the voyage. Upon arrival in Venice, guests are free to explore the city on their own.
Optional extras are available for an additional charge: lunch, a gondola ride, or a water taxi through the Grand Canal.
These trips depart from Pula port at 7:00 AM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from June 3 to September 30, 2025. The journey in one direction takes approximately three and a half hours. (We advise avoiding Saturday, July 19, 2025, due to the large Festa del Redentore event in Venice, which involves special regulations for maritime traffic in the Venetian lagoon. On that date, the travel itinerary will be adjusted.)
Bus transport is charged €10 per adult. Bus timetables for Medulin are: Camping Kažela and Hotel Belvedere, Holiday and Sensimar, Camping Medulin, agency Globus and Hotel Arcus at 06:00. Departures from Banjole are at 06:15 in front of the hotels Del-Mar and Centinera. In Pula the departure times are: at 6:30 from the main street (Ulica Prekomorskih Brigada bb / bar Cuba Libre), Resort Horizont at 06:30 and Punta Verudela at 06:35. Departures from Fažana are at 6:50 from the bus stop and from the Bi Village campsite reception.
Adults pay from €85, children up to 11.99 years 50% and children up to 2.99 years free. The low season lasts from June 3 to 27 and from September 1 to 30, and the high season lasts from June 28 to August 31, 2025.
For the excursions departing from the port, the prices for adults are: €85.00 in low season, and €95.00 in high season.
For the trips with bus shuttle to the boat, the prices for adults are: €95.00 in low, and €105.00 in high season.
These trips depart from the port of Pula at 7:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from June 2 to September 26, 2025. The one-way journey takes approximately 4 hours.
Price for adults: €85 in low season and €95 in high season. Children up to 11.99 years old pay 50%, and children up to 2.99 years old travel for free. Low season: June 2–27 and September 1–26, 2025. High season: June 28–August 31, 2025. Departures are only available from the city port of Pula. For this trip variant, bus transfer to the boat is not available.

Additionally, in Croatia, a local bus transfer to or from the boat is available from €10 one-way.
For trips from Pula to Venice, only a morning bus transfer to the port is available.
For trips from Venice to Pula, only an evening bus transfer from the port to your hotel or campsite is available.
Luggage may include one larger checked bag (suitcase) and one piece of hand luggage.
Transport of bicycles is allowed only for human-powered bikes and costs €10.
The maximum number of bikes per departure is 12.
The tourist tax for entering Venice does not apply if you do not enter the historic city center.
In addition to boat transport, it is possible to book a morning bus transfer to the Port of Pula or an evening bus transfer from the port to your hotel or campsite after the boat arrives. The date selection tool below calculates the price of the boat trip and optional bus transfer.

This catamaran sails every Tuesday from June 6 to September 19 and every Friday and Sunday from July 2 to August 27. The owner of the boat and organizer of this trip is the company Venezialines. Please book at least 49 hours in advance in the high season.
The San Pawl catamaran is 35.20 meters long, 11.5 meters wide and has a top speed of 50 knots. It has 4 toilets, a bar offering hot and cold soft drinks, as well as alcoholic drinks and simple meals such as croissants, sandwiches, chocolates, and sweets. Produced in Norway, equipped with modern devices for navigation and fully air-conditioned. Drive of 2 engines with 2550 HP and the construction with air cushion provide speed and stability.
Bus transport is charged €8.00 per adult and €4.00 per child from 6 to 14 years old. Standard bus departure times are for Medulin: Camping Kažela and Hotel Belvedere 5:55, Hotels Holiday and Sensimar 5:55, Camping Medulin 6:05, Agency Globus and Hotel Arcus 6:10. Pick-up times from Pula are: Pješčana Uvala 6:35, Punta Verudela 6:45, Zlatne Stijene 6:45, Omladinski Hostel 6:50, Hotel Pula 6:55, Camping Stoja 6:55. Other pick-up times are: Premantura 6:25, Banjole (Center) 6:30, Banjole (Camping Indije) 6:35, Fažana (Camping Bi Village) 6:45.
The low season runs from June 6 to 18 and September 1 to 19. The high season runs from June 19 to September 1.
In low season, the price of a boat trip for adults is €85.00, children between 6 and 13.99 years pay €43.00. If children have a family package discount, they pay €0, i.e. they travel by boat for free. The family package is valid when at least two adults travel with children.
In high season, the price of the boat trip is €95.00 for adults, and €48.00 for children aged 6-13.99. The total price is obtained by adding the boat trip and the bus transfer (if used).
The price always includes professional guidance. Pets are charged €15.00.
Children up to the age of 5.99 are always traveling for free on boats and buses.

In this variant, the drives are subjected to changing prices. The prices are in the range from €79 to €92, and can be provided on request for a specific term. In those case, the bus shuttle is not available.
The luggage can be manual (maximum dimensions 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm) and with maximum weight up to 10 kg. For pets are required travel documents, and they are traveling at the price of €15. Their announcement is obligatory. The price for bicycles is also €15 with a compulsory announcement.
